Sources & methodology
This tool estimates flooring installation labor hours, working days, and total labor cost from three inputs: floor area in square feet, a material-specific labor rate in hours per square meter, and crew size with daily working hours. Area is converted from square feet to square meters (÷ 10.764) before applying the labor rate to get total person-hours (area × rate); elapsed hours are found by dividing person-hours by crew size, and elapsed hours are divided by daily working hours to estimate working days; total labor cost is calculated by multiplying total person-hours by the hourly labor rate. The primary assumption is a constant productivity rate throughout the job, with no adjustment for room complexity, layout cuts, or site conditions.
