Typical UK flooring wastage
Plan for 10% wastage on rectangular rooms and 15% on any diagonal, herringbone, or chevron layout. Pattern-matched tiles need an extra 5% for cut matching. Our defaults reflect common UK trade allowances, and can be adjusted upwards for non-standard geometry or downwards where experience supports a lower figure.

On-site considerations for grout
